Andrew Bynum missed Friday's practice to get treatment on his right ankle, which he twisted during Thursday's game against the Bulls.
Bynum said he expects to be able to play Sunday against the Thunder. Meanwhile, Pau Gasol said he has "a lot of soreness," but not in his hamstring, after playing his first game of the season Thursday night. Chalk this up to conditioning; he'll work himself into game shape soon enough.

Pau Gasol returned to action against the Bulls on Thursday, scoring 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting with 13 rebounds, three assists, and one block.
Gasol came out firing with 10 points in the first quarter alone, and lasted to play 35 minutes. He didn't appear to be hampered by his hamstring, even if he did appear winded at times. Owners should watch to see if he experienced any setbacks, but at this point he should be in lineups going forward.

Pau Gasol will not be on a minute count in his season-debut Thursday against the Bulls, but will instead be evaluated based on his conditioning.
In other words, if he can go he can go. While this is a bit of good news for owners inserting him immediately into their lineups, it should be taken with a bit of a grain of salt. Any way you slice it, there will be a bit of risk using him on his first night back.

Pau Gasol (hamstring) will make his season debut Thursday against the Bulls.
He still isn't sure he's 100%, but he said his hamstring felt "great." Coach Phil Jackson said Gasol would play around 25 minutes Thursday. His return will put Lamar Odom back on the bench, and is also likely to affect Andrew Bynum's touches in the low post.

Pau Gasol made it through a full practice on Wednesday without setbacks and remains likely to make his season debut on Thursday.
"I felt great today," Gasol said. "I don't want to jinx it, but everything felt great today. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be able to play [Thursday]." Gasol is expected to rejoin the starting lineup right away, moving Lamar Odom back to the bench. In addition to adversely affecting Odom's production, Gasol's return is likely to affect Andrew Bynum's low-post touches as well.

Pau Gasol is expected to go through a full practice on Wednesday and should make his season debut on Thursday from a hamstring injury.
Gasol has yet to play a game this season, but is finally on the verge of returning - barring no setbacks on Wednesday. He'll probably be worked back into the rotation slowly, so don't play him until you see him putting up decent numbers, or better yet, simply playing for the Lakers.
