Mattieu Garon allowed five goals on 26 shots in Columbus' 5-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche Tuesday night.
Garon has been the lesser of two evils in goal for the Jackets, posting better numbers than the sophomore bust Calder winner Steve Mason.

Mathieu Garon stopped 25 of 27 Blues' shots in Columbus' 3-2 overtime win Saturday night.
Garon got the call for the Blue Jackets, two nights after Steve Mason allowed four goals on 18 shots in a home loss to the Kings, a game in which the Blue Jackets were booed off the ice. The backup netminder was solid in goal, stopping 25 shots in an overtime win in which Columbus was outshot 27-19, including 12-4 in the third period.

Mathieu Garon will start in Saturday's game against St. Louis.
Steve Mason started in Columbus' previous four games. Garon has a 2.80 GAA and .900 save percentage in 25 games in 2009-10.

Garon made 25 saves on 30 shots. He was replaced by Steve Mason who stopped all seven shots he faced.

He made 30 saves in Monday's 4-2 victory over St. Louis and will be making his seventh start in the Blue Jackets' last eight games.

Mathieu Garon kicked away 30 of 32 Blues' shots as the Jackets' defeated St. Louis 4-2 Monday night.
