David Duval, according to Tour Radio, will return to Q-School in an attempt to regain his full playing privileges for the 2010 season.
Duval started the week in 125th place on the PGA Tour's Money List, however he missed the final cut of the year at the Children's Miracle Network Classic and will fall out of the Top 125. Due to his ranking between 125th to 150th on the Money List, he will automatically qualify for the final round of Q-School.

David Duval chased his opening 76 with a 1-over-par 73 on Disney's Magnolia Course at the Children's Miracle Network Classic, and will miss the cut by a large margin.
This is it. Duval's day with destiny has arrived. He's exhausted both career earnings exemptions and is all but a certainty to tumble at least one spot from his current perch at 125th on the money list. According to Golf Channel, he will not compete for a tour card at Q School, so he'll get busy writing letters to tournament directors for sponsor exemptions at events in which his conditional status will not guarantee entry.

David Duval signed for a 4-over-par 39-37=76 after his opening round of the Children's Miracle Network Classic.
He hit just 10 GIR and still required 31 putts at Disney's Palm Course, which was the PGA Tour's easiest course in all of 2008. Duval entered the tournament ranked 125th on the money list, so he needs a very low number on Friday afternoon to make the cut. Short of that, he'd be off to the final stage of Q School, but even on conditional status, he'd have no trouble getting 22-25 starts with sponsor exemptions in 2010; that is, if he wanted to play that often.

David Duval submitted a 1-over-par 71 in the final round of the U.S. Open, finishing in a three-way tie for second place, two shots behind winner, Lucas Glover.
Duval couldn't recover from a triple-bogey 6 at the 3rd hole today. A run of three birdies on the back nine preceded a missed par putt at the 17th, but it's clear that Duval can finally close out a golf tournament again. It's his first top-10 since the 2002 Invensys Classic in Las Vegas. His T-2 at Bethpage automatically qualifies him for the 2010 Masters and U.S. Open.

David Duval carded a 1-over-par 73 in the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Playing Pebble Beach today, Duval hit just nine GIR and still needed 28 putts to finish. This was his first start since withdrawing with an illness after 24 holes at the FBR.

David Duval is listed in the published field of next week's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
If he's regained his health since withdrawing from the FBR with an illness, Duval will return to yet another spot where he enjoyed success in his heyday. However, you know the theme ... he hasn't posted a Top 35 on the Monterey Peninsula since 1999, missing the cut four of six times since.
