Jerry Kelly returns to THE TOUR Championship as the 29th ranked player in this week's FedExCup Finals.
Kelly gained entry into this week's finals via a win at the Zurich Classic, plus a third at the U.S. Bank Championship, a T-5 at the Canadian Open and a T-11 in the playoffs at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He has a very good record at THE TOUR Championship with two Top 4s in three starts at the event.

Jerry Kelly is a bogey-free 11-under-par through 31 holes of the RBC Canadian Open.
Kelly owned a one-stroke lead as play was suspended shortly after 4:00 p.m. local time today. It wasn't raining but severe weather was approaching the Oakville, Ontario area. The delay is expected to last upwards of three hours, which might prevent play from resuming today. It will all depend on how much rain falls and how quickly the course can be prepped. Players will have to have time to warm up as well. The weather at the RBC is not favorable to Saturday either. Looking ahead, next week's Buick Open is a relatively short drive to Grand Blanc, Michigan, so even a Monday finish wouldn't be all that much of a problem for those in the field in both events.

Jerry Kelly carded a final round of 5-under-par 65 and finished in third place at the U.S. Bank Championship.
Kelly passed on playing in this year's British Open to play in the U.S. Bank Championship to help support the Wisconsin tournament that now must try to find a sponsor or disappear. In recent weeks, Kelly has hinted that a sponsor might be found, but there has been no mention if the tournament does find a sponsor, if it will continue to be an alternate event next to the British Open.

A total of 65 golfers will play 36 holes of the John Deere Classic on Sunday.
With Friday's wash-out, the 36-hole cut was revised from top-70 and ties to the number nearest 60. Effectively, that lifted the cut from 3-under-par (15 at T-66 will receive prize money and go in the annals as MDFers) to 4-under. Jerry Kelly is a bogey-free 9-under through his first two rounds, four strokes off Darron Stiles' pace. Kelly has missed just two (of 28) fairways, hit 30 GIR and taken 58 putts. For the third round, golfers will go off in threesomes off split tees at 6:45 a.m. CT on Sunday. To ensure a same-day finish, the field will not re-pair for the fourth round.

Jerry Kelly carded a final round of 1-under-par 71 and won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans by one stroke over a group of three players.
Kelly played the opening nine holes in even-par, but he opened the back nine with a bogey, which dropped him two-shots off the lead. He rebounded on the next hole with a birdie and then tied for the lead, with an 8-foot birdie at the 14th hole. Kelly found himself in the lead, after Charles Howell III had a meltdown in the final holes, and was able to win the championship with pars on his last four holes. The victory is the third PGA Tour title for Kelly and it his first since the 2002 Advil Western Open. The Zurich Classic championship also has earned him a spot in this year's PGA Championship and a trip to the Masters in 2010.
