Steward Cink defeated Adam Scott by a score of 4 & 3 in Match 24 of the Presidents Cup.
The match was actually close on the front nine with Scott being only 1-down at the turn. Cink then won the opening two holes of the back nine and birdied the 14th hole to go 4-up. Part of the reason for the margin of victory was Scott continued to struggle with his game, with half of the fairways hit and hit only six greens in regulation. The victory gave the Americans a 13 1/2 to 9 1/2 lead over the International team and they are only four points away from retaining the Presidents Cup.

Stewart Cink and Hunter Mahan halved Vijay Singh and Robert Allenby in Match 15 of the Presidents Cup.
The Americans got out to a quick 2-up lead on the opening two holes, but then they dropped the next four holes to go 2-down. They were able to cut the lead down to a hole after a birdie at the 8th hole, but on the back nine the Internationals held a two-hole advantage with four holes to play. A birdie at the 15th hole cut the lead to a hole and at the 18th hole a tee shot in the rough by Singh, plus a poor second shot by Allenby, led to the Americans squaring the match. The half point for both sides left the Americans with a 9 to 7 lead on the Internationals. The afternoon matches will see Cink matched up with Lucas Glover and Hunter Mahan will be one of the two American players that will be rested. On the International side, Allenby will be paired with Geoff Ogilvy and Singh will play with Tim Clark.

Stewart Cink posted a second round of 2-over-par 72 and is four-strokes off the lead at THE TOUR Championship.
Cink was 2-under-par on the front nine and held a share of the lead with Tiger Woods at the turn. On the 10th hole, he proceeded to get an unlucky bounce on his tee shot and the ball went over the left fence out of bounds. He hit his next tee shot over the left fence out of bounds and on his third tee shot he put it right next to a fairway bunker. Cink hit a brilliant recovery shot next to the green and from there got down in two to record a quadrupole-bogey. Cink was able to make a shot back up at the 14th hole, but he gave it back after finding the greenside bunker at the final hole.

Stewart Cink will enter the FedExCup Finals as the 26th ranked player in the field.
Cink made it to the finals via his win at the British Open, a third place at the WGC-Accenture Match Play and a T-23 at the BMW Championship. He lives in Atlanta and you would think that he would have a bit of a home field advantage, but Cink's has only two Top 20s in five starts on the East Lake course.

Stewart Cink carded a final round of 1-under-par 69 and won the British Open in a four-hole playoff with Tom Watson.
Cink birdied the final hole to go to 2-under-par for the tournament and then waited to see if he would end up in a playoff. The playoff happened when Tom Watson overshot the green on the final hole and bogeyed the hole, when he couldn't get down in two strokes. In the playoff, Cink parred 5th hole to go one-up on Watson and the second playoff hole saw both players par the hole. The championship was sealed for Cink on the 17th hole, when an errant tee shot by Watson, coupled with a brilliant birdie by Cink caused a three-shot swing that put Cink up by four-strokes. The final playoff-hole saw more sparking play from Cink, when he put his approach three-feet from the hole for a closing birdie. The British Open title is the first major championship for Cink and his sixth career PGA Tour title.

Stewart Cink spun a 3-under-par 67 in the opening round of the Honda Classic.
Cink hit 15 GIR and needed 30 putts to finish today, typical stuff when his game is on. The good play secured a share of the clubhouse lead. The third place at the Match Play and today's effort are helping his fantasy owners forget about his second half of 2008.
