Rickie Fowler crafted a 6-under-par 35-31=66 in his opening round of the Children's Miracle Network Classic, finishing with a one-stroke clubhouse lead.
He hit just 12 GIR but the phenom drained birdies on five of his last six holes on the Palm Course to win the morning wave. He and playing partner Jamie Lovemark (71) will play the longer Magnolia Course on Friday afternoon.

Because the Viking Classic was canceled, the Children's Miracle Network Classic will be treated as the subsequent event to the Frys.com Open, so Rickie Fowler and Jamie Lovemark can play Disney via their top-10s last week.
Although the majority of those involved with the Viking Classic are disappointed that the event was washed out, there is a small contingent that view it as a blessing. The second stage of Q School isn't until the week after the CMNC at Disney, so Lovemark should not have a schedule conflict. You also have a few guys on the positive side of the top-125 bubble that are benefited. And Kevin Streelman leads the Kodak Challenge by two strokes, now with just one hole to play.

Rickie Fowler carded a final round of 6-under-par 64 and finished in a tie for second place after a three-way playoff at the Frys.com Open.
Fowler was red hot at the start of his round, and after his ace at the par-3 5th hole, he was 5-under-par on the round, with a one-stroke lead in the tournament. Troy Matteson took the lead back moments later and it was a duel between the two until Fowler bogeyed the final hole to give Matteson a two-stroke advantage. Matteson couldn't hold the lead over the closing holes and the third playoff of the Fall Series was created with Fowler, Matteson and Jamie Lovemark. All of the players parred the first playoff hole, but on the next hole Mattteson won by putting his approach within two-feet and then watching as neither Fowler of Lovemark could get closer than 35-feet on their approach. It was a disappointing loss for Fowler, but in the last two weeks he has earned enough money to ensure conditional status on the Tour next season and a place in the finals of Q-School. The P-2 finish also gets him into field of next week's Viking Classic, where he will have a chance to better his status.

Non-member Rickie Fowler followed his opening 65 with a bogey-free, 6-under-par 32-32=64 in the second round of the Frys.com Open, finishing with a share of the clubhouse lead.
A day after carding an eagle-2 and four birdies, he went out and did the exact same thing, only avoiding the bogey-man this time. Fowler drove the green on the 345-yard, par-4 6th, then drained the eagle putt from 13'2". If he can muster at worst a two-way T-2, then his non-member aggregate earnings will qualify him for Special Temporary Membership, which would exempt him into the final stage of Q School.

Rickie Fowler posted a final round of 3-under-par 68 and finished in a tie for seventh place at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
It was an impressive debut for Fowler and his 9-foot birdie at the the final hole earned his way into next week's Frys.com Open via his Top-10 finish, instead of a sponsor's exemption, which means that he might get to play in one or two extra events on the Tour's Fall Series.

Rickie Fowler chased his opening 67 with a 7-under-par 30-34=64 in the second round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
After what seemed like an agonizing decision-making process, Fowler turned pro a month ago after two years at Oklahoma State, and it could pay immediate dividends. In his first pro start on the PGA Tour, he's drained an eagle and 12 birdies at TPC Summerlin to finish at an aggregate 11-under through 36 holes, just two back of the clubhouse lead. Fowler will play next week's Frys.com on a sponsor exemption and will tee it up in the first stage of Q School in two weeks.
