Lee Westwood is 15-under-par 66-69-66=201 through three rounds of the Dubai World Championship, maintaining a two-stroke lead over Ross McGowan (71-66-66=203).
Westwood was bogey-free today and has given back just two strokes all week. Moreover, he and McGowan were two of the three that carded the field-low 66s in the third round. A stable of three golfers, including Rory McIlroy and Padraig Harrington, are five strokes off Westwood's pace. Also at stake on Sunday are exemptions into the U.S. and British Opens, awarded to the top-15 and top-30, respectively, in the final Race to Dubai standings.

Lee Westwood is 9-under-par 66-69=135 through two rounds of the Dubai World Championship and will sleep on a two-stroke lead over 18-hole leader, Robert Allenby (65-72), Rory McIlroy (68-69) and four others.
Despite a T-54 in Hong Kong, where he regretted playing, there are few if any as zeroed in on their games right as Westwood. He finally returned to the winner's circle in Portugal last month, but his overall consistency at a high level makes him a favorite everywhere he tees it up. The winner of the Race to Dubai receives $1.5 million in bonus prize money on top of his paycheck at the Dubai World Championship.

Lee Westwood carded a final round of 2-under-par 70 and finished in a tie for third place at the PGA Championship.
The primary focus of the final round was the match between Y.E. Yang and Tiger Woods, because they were at least three-strokes clear of the rest of the pack for most of the afternoon. In the final round, Westwood was able to birdie three of the four par-5, which help him tied for the lowest score in the final round. Today's finish is his second consecutive T-3 in a major and he now has a streak of five Top 10s in-a-row, including European Tour events.

Lee Westwood announced today that he will not compete in THE PLAYERS next week.
"It was a difficult decision pulling out of the Players," Westwood said in a statement, "but one I felt obliged to take considering my schedule for Europe through the summer. I've done quite a bit of travelling to and from America this year and would have to re-organise my schedule again to fit in another trip." Last September, he alluded to a limited schedule, so today's news is no surprise. Expect Westwood to play in the remaining three majors and the WGC-Bridgestone; that's it.

Lee Westwood is the early leader at 4-under-par through nine hole of the Shell Houston Open.
Weather has wreaked havoc all day. Early storms delayed the start by 2-1/2 hours. Then, at 12:50 p.m. local time, play was suspended due to the combination of 35-mph winds and fast greens and closely mown areas around the greens, which couldn't hold balls in the gusts. No golfer played more than 12 holes. "We just couldn't conduct the competition so we had to call it," said Mark Russell, the Vice President of Rules, Competitions and Administration for the PGA Tour. The first round is scheduled to resume at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Thursday's afternoon wave will now begin its first round at 9:45 a.m.

Lee Westwood defeated Prayad Marksaeng 2&1 in the first round in the Hogan Bracket of the WGC-Match Play.
In a well-played match, just one bogey was carded between the two (Marksaeng, par-3 6th), but Westwood was never down after winning the 4th hole. The Brit moves on to face Stewart Cink on Thursday.
