Retief Goosen posted a final round of 3-under-par 69 and finished in second place after a playoff at the RBC Canadian Open.
Goosen was tied for the lead going into the 14th hole, but back-to-back bogeys dropped him two-strokes off the lead. Going into the final hole Goosen needed an eagle to tie and he got that, when he was able to convert from 16-feet, plus he was aided when the co-leader Nathan Green had to scramble to save par at the par-5 18th. Goosen did have a good chance to win on the first playoff hole, but he missed a six-foot birdie-putt for the championship. A poor shot off the tee at the second playoff hole caused Goosen to get on the green in three and he had a chance to continue the playoff, but he couldn't convert the six-foot par-putt. The P-2 is his best finish on the PGA Tour since his victory at the Transitions Championship earlier this year, and if you include including European Tour events, this is Goosen's fourth consecutive Top 6 finish.
