Charley Hoffman birdied his final two holes in the second round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial to make the cut on the number.
The 3-3 finish extends Hoffman's consecutive cuts made streak to 23 events. He's one of 15 to make the cut at even-par 140 and one of 79 to advance, forcing a 54-hole cut on the weekend. The weather will remain spectacular, so don't be surprised if the 72-hole scoring record of 261 is challenged.

Charley Hoffman chased an opening 69 with a 6-under-par 66 in the second round of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Steady as he goes this year. While he's landed just 13 (of 28) fairways, it matters little this week as a hot blade (53 putts, 26 GIR) has led to 14 birdies at TPC Louisiana, leaving him one stroke off the 36-hole clubhouse lead.

Charley Hoffman withdrew on Monday from the field of the Honda Classic.
Hoffman usually plays well on the West Coast, and this year was no exception. Even after not playing last week, he is in 10th place on this year's Money List, with earnings of almost a million dollars.

Charley Hoffman chased an opening 71 with a 6-under-par 66 in the second round of the Buick Invitational, and is four shots off the 36-hole clubhouse lead.
Hoffman played the North Course of Torrey Pines today, draining seven birdies to capitalize on his one round on the easier track. But it hardly matters with the way he's been playing. At the time he finished, Hoffman led the field in driving distance and GIR (30), while taking just 58 putts. He opened his season with a T-19 at the Hope, and backed it up with a P-2 at the FBR. Married life (offseason wedding) is definitely agreeing with his career.

Charley Hoffman carded a final round of 4-under-par 67 and finished in second place after losing in a three-hole playoff with Kenny Perry.
Hoffman at one point of his round was six-shots off of the lead, but he mounted a rally and found himself in a three-way tie for for the lead after his sixth birdie of the day at the 13th hole. He briefly took the lead after a birdie at the par-5 15th hole, but missed birdie opportunities at the final two holes of the day eventually left him one-shot off the lead. Hoffman needed help to get into a playoff and help came when Kenny Perry bogeyed the final hole. Both players had chances to win in the first two holes of the playoff, but Hoffman opened the door for Perry when he was unable to convert a birdie putt at the short par-4 17th hole. Perry was just off the green with his approach and he ended the playoff when he sank a 20-foot birdie putt. The second place finish is the best showing on the Tour by Hoffman since he won in a playoff at the 2007 Bob Hope. He is scheduled to play in next week's Buick Invitational, where his best finish is a T-16 in 2006.

Charley Hoffman chased his opening 66 with a 3-under-par 68 in the second round of the FBR Open.
Hoffman had the outright lead with three holes to play, but a pair of bogeys left him one stroke behind the 36-hole clubhouse lead. His bread and butter this week has been his iron game, which has led to 28 GIR, one of the best numbers in the field.
