Rory Sabbatini posted a final round of 1-under-par 63 and finished in second place at the SBS Championship.
Sabbatini started the day six-strokes off the lead and four birdies on his opening nine got him to within two strokes of the lead. On the back nine, Sabbatini put a string together of five consecutive birdies starting at the 11th hole to take the lead from Geoff Ogilvy. He was able to sink a 13-foot birdie-putt at the par-4 17th hole to reach 21-under-par for the tournament, and after a par at the par-5 final hole, Sabbatini had to wait to see if the score would hold up. Ogilvy passed Sabbatini with a birdie at the 15th hole and then nursed his lead for the final three holes, which left Sabbatini in sole second place. The second place finish is the best for Sabbatini on the Tour since his championship last season at the HP Byron Nelson and he is currently scheduled to play next week in the Sony Open.

Rory Sabbatini chased his opening 66 with a 1-under-par 33-37=70 in the second round of the BMW Championship.
Sabbatini started on the back and was 3-under through 10 before carding two bogeys on the way in. He hit just 11 GIR today, two fewer than yesterday, and still required an extra putt (28 total), finishing one stroke off Mark Wilson's clubhouse lead.

Rory Sabbatini crafted a 5-under-par 33-33=66 in his opening round of the BMW Championship.
Two days after getting passed over as a captain's pick for the International squad at the President's Cup, Sabbatini responded appropriately, burying seven birdies at redesigned Cog Hill. He entered the third leg of the FedExCup Playoffs ranked 35th in points, so he needs to climb at least five spots to qualifying for THE TOUR Championship.

Rory Sabbatini carded a final round of 6-under-par 64 and won the HP Byron Nelson Championship by two-strokes over Brian Davis.
Sabbatini opened up a one-stroke lead on the 1st hole, after co-leader and playing partner John Mallinger bogeyed the opening hole. The lead soon widened out to two-strokes for Sabbatini, but even though he was 2-under-par at the turn he found himself in a tie for the lead with a hard charging Brian Davis. A 15-foot birdie-putt at the 11th hole gave him the sole lead and after four more birdies he found himself with a three-shot lead going into the final hole. He played conservative on the final hole, which cost him a stroke, but when he knocked in the 5-foot bogey-putt he still had set a new scoring record for the HP Byron Nelson. The championship is the fifth of his career, plus it has earned him spots in this year's U.S. and British Opens (via the money list, where he's 7th), PGA Championship and the 2010 Masters.

Rory Sabbatini posted a third round of 5-under-par 65 and shares the lead with John Mallinger going into Sunday's final round.
Due to the forecast of storms in the afternoon, the Tour moved up the tee times and put the players in groups of three. Sabbatini put five birdies on the card before his lone bogey of the round at the par-4 14th, but he bounced back on the next hole with a very nice 11-foot birdie-putt. He was in a three-way tie for the lead at that point and he parred the remaining holes to stay tied with playing partner John Mallinger for the lead. The Tour at this point is planning for a normal start to the final round, but they will be watching the weather to see if they need to change the schedule.

Rory Sabbatini chased an opening 68 with a 6-under-par 64 in the second round of the HP Byron Nelson Championship to take to early clubhouse lead.
Sabbatini has hit 24 GIR and taken just 52 putts, draining 12 birdies in his two tours of TPC Las Colinas. He missed the cut last year, but finished a personal-best T-3 (in 10 starts) at the Nelson in 2007, the last year before the redesign. He had peaked in New Orleans with a T-2 four weeks ago, but then missed the cuts at Quail Hollow and THE PLAYERS.
