Pat Perez withdrew from the HP Byron Nelson Championship today due to an ankle injury he suffered while running with his dog last week.
"He doesn't complain real easily, but he said he thought he broke it at first," Perez' caddie, Mike Hartford said about his boss. "He may have torn a tendon. I know he's aiming to play at Colonial [May 28], but it's doubtful he'll be able to." By virtue of his Bob Hope victory, Perez is eligible for the PGA Championship, but has yet to qualify for the U.S. and British Opens. It's not impossible for him to qualify for either at this moment, but it is unlikely if his injury is as bad as it sounds. Source: PGATour.com
