Sean O'Hair defeated Ernie Els by a score of 6 & 4 in Match 28 of the Presidents Cup.
Considering how well Els was playing yesterday the result is a bit of an eyeopener. Els lost the opening two holes and that lead held through the opening nine. On the back nine, O'Hair won the 10th, 12th and 13th holes and the match was won when Els conceded the 14th hole. The victory gave the Americans a 16 1/2 to 9 1/2 lead and they only need a single point to retain the Presidents Cup.

Sean O'Hair card a final round of 1-under-par 69 and finished in third place at THE TOUR Championship.
O'Hair on the front nine could manage only a birdie the fourth hole and by the turn he was three strokes in back of playing partner Phil Mickelson. On the back nine, he did manage a 19-foot birdie at the 11th hole to get within two strokes of the lead, but that was as close as he could get and a bogey at the 17th hole eventually dropped him into third place. He mentioned to Tour Radio that he is not planning on playing in the Tour's Fall Series and that he will play at the end of the year in the Chevron World Challenge plus the next week at the Shark Shootout.

Sean O'Hair carded a 4-under-par 31-35=66 in his opening round of THE TOUR Championship, and will sleep on the 18-hole lead.
Employing a putting tip from Tiger Woods, O'Hair buried a field-high six birdies at East Lake. He hit 14 GIR and took 28 putts overall, finishing first in the putting stat. The field will re-pair in twosomes based on today's scores, which means O'Hair will go out last with East Lake member, Stewart Cink, who shares second place at 3-under with Padraig Harrington and Tiger Woods. The weather cooperated today, but Friday's forecast is not as nice, with showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoon.

Sean O'Hair is the seventh ranked player in the FedExCup Finals that will be played at THE TOUR Championship.
O'Hair was one of the hottest players on the Tour at the start of the season, and after just missing a win at Arnold Palmer Invitational, he won two starts later at the Quail Hollow Championship. The regular season went south after that, but he reemerged in the Playoffs with a T-8 at the Deutsche Bank Championship and a T-4 at the BMW Championship. He has played in THE TOUR Championship once and finished in 12th place in 2005.

Sean O'Hair posted a second round of 7-under-par 64 and shares the overnight lead with Jim Furyk at the Deutsche Bank Championship.
O'Hair started on the back nine and put three consecutive birdies together starting at the 15th hole to go 3-under-par at the turn. He then opened the front nine with three more birdies and an eagle at the par-5 2nd hole to reach 13-under-par for the tournament. His only blemish on the card came a couple of holes later when a poor approach to a the 6th hole cost him a stroke. O'Hair has been paired with Jim Furyk for the first two rounds and they will be paired again in Sunday's third round.

Sean O'Hair carded a second round of 3-under-par 69, but failed to make the cut by a single stroke at the RBC Canadian Open.
O'Hair was even-par at the turn, but the three birdies he carded on the back nine wasn't enough to overcome a poor opening round of 1-over-par 73. The missed cut is only his third of what has been an excellent season for O'Hair. Other notables missing the cut were John Daly, Mathew Goggin, Bubba Watson, Charlie Wi, John Senden and last week's second place finisher John Mallinger.
