Scott Piercy carded a third round of 6-under-par 65 and shares the overnight lead with Chad Campbell at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
The old saying on the trading floor about a new child bringing luck seems to holding true for Piercy as he carded seven birdies and one bogey on his way to his round of 65. After he finished his round, he held sole possession of the lead after Chad Campbell double-bogey the 16th hole, but Campbell dropped a seven-foot birdie-putt at the final hole to tie Piercy at an aggregate score of 17-under-par. On Sunday, Piercy will be looking for his first PGA Tour Championship and to be the first rookie to win on this year's Tour.

The day after his third son was born, Las Vegas native, Scott Piercy, managed a 4-under-par 34-33=67 in the second round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Talk about great planning, er, timing! Actually, Golf Channel reported on Thursday that Piercy's wife, Sara, was scheduled for an induction on Monday, but the bouncing baby boy couldn't wait any longer. He must have been excited about Piercy's opening bogey-free 64. Today's round featured a 7-foot eagle putt that Piercy drained to finish two strokes off the 36-hole lead. Fellas, don't start citing Piercy's allowance to play golf within 24 hours after the wife gives birth. It won't work quite the same for you.

This is the fourth appearance here for the Las Vegas-born and current resident, Piercy, but first as a member of the PGA Tour. He hit 15 GIR and took 29 putts en route to seven birdies and a share of the clubhouse lead as the afternoon wave begins.

Scott Piercy posted a third round of 6-under-par 66 and shares the lead with Matt Kuchar at the Turning Stone Resort Championship.
Piercy played the opening nine in 3-under-par, which pulled him within a stroke of the lead. On the back nine, he opened with a 4-foot birdie-putt to tie for the lead and he was able to add birdies at the 12th and tough 15th hole to keep pace with Matt Kuchar for the lead. He did have a chance to gain the sole lead at final hole, but Piercy three-putted the par-5 hole to remain at 14-under-par for the tournament. On Sunday, Piercy will be looking for his first victory on the PGA Tour and to be the first rookie to win a title this season.

Scott Piercy posted a third round of 8-under-par 64, which was the low round of the day at the Buick Open.
Piercy went out early in the day and opened the front par in 3-under-par. On the back nine, he had a birdie run starting at the 12th hole of five birdies in seven holes, which moved him up to ninth place and only five-shots off the lead. Piercy played very well at the start of the season and after prolong slump in the spring, he seems to have found his game again.

Scott Piercy is entered in the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee, but has moved up to second alternate at the British Open.
Due to the withdrawal of Jeev Milkha Singh and entry of John Senden, Piercy has moved up to second alternate at the Open. Piercy played in Monday's Rockford Pro-Am and won the event with a sparkling 6-under-par 66. He now faces the choice of playing in Milwaukee this week or going to Scotland in the hope that he will gain entry into this year's British Open.
