Coco Crisp (shoulder) expects to be at full strength by spring training.
Crisp underwent surgery on his right shoulder last June and missed nearly the entire season. But Dr. James Andrews, who performed the initial procedure, told the outfielder recently that "everything is coming back perfect." Crisp will man center field for the A's this season with Rajai Davis in left and Ryan Sweeney in right. "Anything hit in the air is going to be caught," teammate Gio Gonzalez said Thursday, noting Oakland's team speed.

Athletics signed OF Coco Crisp to a one-year, $5.25 million contract.
Crisp, 30, hit .228/.336/.378 in 180 at-bats with the Royals last season before undergoing season-ending surgery on both his shoulders. Crisp, Rajai Davis and Ryan Sweeney could comprise one of the best defensive outfields in the sport, but we're not sure it will actually happen. Remember, Scott Hairston and the newly-acquired Michael Taylor are also in-house, so chances are Billy Beane will work out a trade to cash in on his depth.

The official announcement of Coco Crisp's one-year deal with the Athletics has been delayed because he wasn't able to make his physical due to a flight delay.
Crisp underwent surgery on both shoulders last season, but is expected to be ready for spring training. If he passes the physical, Crisp will make a base salary of $5 million in 2010. The 30-year old hit .228/.336/.378 in 180 at-bats for Kansas City this past year.

Coco Crisp's impending one-year deal with the Athletics will include an option for the 2011 season.
Crisp will make a base salary of $5 million in 2010 and the option is probably worth about the same. The 30-year old hit .228/.336/.378 in 180 at-bats for Kansas City this year before undergoing surgery on both shoulders.

Oakland is closing on a one year, $5 million deal with OF Coco Crisp, ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports.
A little curious that the Athletics have elected to go with Crisp over Jack Cust when Cust would have cost about $4 million through the arbitration process. Crisp should provide fantastic defense, but his contribution on offense is anyone's guess. The 30-year old batted .228/.336/.378 in 180 at-bats for Kansas City in 2009 before undergoing surgery on both shoulders.

According to MLB.com's Corey Brock, there is mutual interest between the Padres and free agent outfielder Coco Crisp.
"We have been talking to them. We see a real fit there, possibly," said Crisp's agent, Steve Comte. Crisp, 30, batted .228/.336/.378 with three home runs, 14 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 180 at-bats for the Royals in 2009 before having his season cut short by surgery in both shoulders. Comte expects his client to don a new uniform "before the holiday."
