Larry LaRue of the Tacoma News Tribune reports that the Mariners have extended contract offers to Jack Wilson and Russell Branyan.
According to the report, neither have accepted and negotiations are ongoing. LaRue doesn't mention any dollar amounts, but notes that Wilson's was offered a multi-year contract. The Mariners must decide by Sunday whether to exercise the slick-fielding shortstop's $8.4 million option for 2010, or buy him out for $600,000. The two sides are believed to be negotiating a multi-year contract that would pay him less annually. Source: Tacoma News Tribune
