According to Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com, the Reds have re-signed Ramon Hernandez to a one-year contract.
Full terms were not disclosed, but the new deal reportedly includes a vesting option for 2011 that becomes guaranteed if he appears in 120 games. The Reds declined Hernandez's $8.5 million option for 2010, buying him out for $1 million, but they were expected to negotiate a new deal all along. Hernandez, 33, batted .258/.336/.362 with five home runs and 37 RBI in 287 at-bats for the Reds in 2009, but missed nearly two months following surgery on his left knee in July. Source: FOXSports.com
