Shane Victorino was pulled in the eighth inning of Monday's World Series Game 5 with a bruised hand.
Victorino took a pitch off his throwing hand in the first inning while attempting to lay down a bunt. It was clearly bothering him both at the plate and in the field, but manager Charlie Manuel decided to wait until the Phillies had a large lead in the eighth before replacing him with Ben Francisco. X-rays were negative, so Victorino should be fine if the series continues.

Raul Ibanez shifts back to left field after DHing in Game 1, with Ben Francisco going to the bench. Francisco provided a massive defensive upgrade and Stairs hit just .194 in limited playing time this season, but manager Charlie Manuel wants to get his left-handed bat in the lineup against right-hander A.J. Burnett.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel confirmed Tuesday that Ben Francisco will be in his starting lineup for Game 1 of the World Series.
Francisco hit .278 with five home runs in only 97 at-bats as a Phillie this season. He's probably going to play left field with Raul Ibanez serving as the designated hitter against Yankees left-hander CC Sabathia.

Victorino is still bothered by a gastrointestinal illness (food poisoning). Ben Francisco will start and bat second against Javier Vazquez.
