Diamondbacks signed 1B-OF Jeff Bailey to a minor league contract.
The deal includes an invitation to spring training, where Bailey will try to land a spot on Arizona's Opening Day roster as a backup outfielder. The 31-year-old batted .208/.330/.416 with three home runs and nine RBI in 77 at-bats with the Red Sox this past season.

Jeff Bailey (ankle) is scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Pawtucket on Sunday.
Bailey has been on the disabled list since July 6 with a high ankle sprain. He's likely to be sent directly back to Pawtucket once he's activated.

Bailey is still about a month from returning to action, and will be sent immediately back to Triple-A Pawtucket once he's at full strength.

Red Sox placed first baseman Jeff Bailey on the 15-day disabled list with a high left ankle sprain.
Bailey suffered the injury on Saturday when Ronny Cedeno slid into first base on a bunt single. It's unfortunate for Bailey, who was in line for some at-bats at first base with Kevin Youkilis' shift across the diamond to cover for Mike Lowell.

Red Sox recalled first baseman Jeff Bailey from Triple-A Pawtucket.
Bailey posted a .188/.309/.391 line in 69 at-bats with the Red Sox the last time he was in the majors. He may get some playing time at first base while Kevin Youkilis fills in for Mike Lowell at third, but probably won't pull in enough at-bats for fantasy relevancy.
