General manager Walt Jocketty doesn't have any plans to trade Joey Votto.
"Oh God, no," Jocketty said. Upon news that the Reds were eager to slash payroll, some speculated that the Reds could pair Votto with an expensive veteran to make a trade more appealing, but Jocketty has no plans to trade the 26-year-old first baseman. Votto is the type of player Jocketty wants to acquire, not trade away.

Joey Votto finished 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI Saturday as the Reds topped the Pirates.
Votto delivered a solo shot in the eighth inning as insurance after driving in two runs with a double in the fourth. He's batting .318 on the year with 38 doubles, 25 homers and 84 RBI. Because of the time he missed this season due to clinical depression, he's going to be highly underrated in 2010 fantasy drafts. Mark him down as a sleeper.

Joey Votto doubled three times and drove in a run while Scott Rolen doubled twice and drove in three runs in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday night.
Votto and Rolen each doubled to drive in runs during the Reds' five-run fifth inning. Rolen later drove in runs with an RBI single in the seventh and his second RBI double of the night in the eighth, knocking in Votto. With a .333 batting average this month, Votto looks to have gotten hot again at precisely the right time for fantasy owners.
