Brett Myers disputed a Yahoo! Sports report that he had a "tense confrontation" with Cole Hamels following Game 5.
Tim Brown reported that Myers said, "What are you doing here? I thought you quit" in response to Hamels' previous quotes about wanting the season to end. However, Myers and Hamels are said to be very good friends and Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com wrote that he felt Myers was merely kidding around. "The bottom line is nothing happened and nothing ever will happen between us," Myers said.

According to a witness, Cole Hamels and Brett Myers had a brief confrontation in the clubhouse following the Game 5 victory over the Yankees on Monday night.
According to a witness, as Myers walked past Hamels' locker, he said, "What are you doing here? I thought you quit." Myers was responding to comments that Hamels made following a loss in Game 3 in Saturday, expressing an eagerness for the season to end. According to the witness, Hamels responded with an expletive while Myers was escorted away by a team official. Hamels still hopes to start Game 7, if it gets that far, but he might not have all of his teammates on his side.

Cole Hamels was lit up for five runs in 4 1/3 innings in Saturday’s loss to the Yankees.
Hamels was flawless for three innings before giving up a two-run homer in the fourth and then four hits that accounted for three runs in the fifth. He's surrendered 16 runs in 19 innings during his four postseason starts and the Phillies can't be thrilled with the prospect of starting him in a potential Game 7, if the World Series gets that far.

Cole Hamels plans on adding a fourth pitch to his repertoire in spring training.
The fourth pitch will be either a slider or cut-fastball in order to reduce reliance on his curveball. The curve has been inconsistent this year which has allowed hitters to sit on his fastball-changeup combo. The thought here is that by adding a second breaking pitch that's not as "complex" as the curve, it will be easier to control. It's an intriguing idea, but it won't help Hamels at all Saturday night when he'll go against the Yankees in Game 3 of the World Series.

Pedro Martinez will start Game 2 of the World Series against the Yankees.
Many speculated, but Charlie Manuel finally made it official during an appearance on Michael Smerconish's radio show on Tuesday morning. Martinez is expected to oppose A.J. Burnett. Manuel also announced Cole Hamels as his Game 3 starter when the series returns to Philadelphia.

Cole Hamels gave up three solo homers in 4 1/3 innings before being pulled from his start Wednesday against the Dodgers.
With one very notable exception, the Phillies have to be thrilled with how the playoffs have gone so far. Hamels, though, has allowed six homers and pitched just 14 2/3 innings in his three starts to date. There's no way the Phillies can hold him out of the rotation in the World Series, but they'll certainly have a quick hook.
