Phillies optioned outfielder John Mayberry Jr. to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Mayberry has only collected 53 at-bats this season with the Phillies and is better off gaining everyday playing time at Triple-A. The 6-foot-6 outfielder hit .189/.232/.453 with four home runs during his time in the bigs. Reliever Steven Register was also sent to Triple-A in order to clear room for the Phillies' new acquisitions, Ben Francisco and Cliff Lee.

John Mayberry Jr. went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and threw out a runner at home plate during Thursday's game.
The Phillies haven't displayed much of a desire to get Matt Stairs any time in the outfield, so Mayberry figures to be the primary replacement for Raul Ibanez for the next two weeks. The Phillies won't want to keep him around as a part-timer for the long term, but for now, he's worth using in NL-only leagues.

Phillies recalled outfielder John Mayberry Jr. from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 6'6" outfield prospect returns to a .222/.222/.667 batting line, one home run and three RBI. He'll find a bit of playing time with Raul Ibanez sidelined, but might not be around for long enough to gain fantasy relevancy.

Phillies optioned outfielder John Mayberry Jr. to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The 6'6" outfield prospect was impressive out of the gate, but will leave behind a .222 batting average. He's better off racking up at-bats down at the Triple-A level. The move cleared roster space for Tuesday's starter, Antonio Bastardo.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said Sunday that outfielder John Mayberry might stick around for a while.
"Mayberry's going to stay here a while," Manuel said. "How long is up to Big John." The 6' 6" right-hander went 0-for-5 on Sunday, but hit a home run in his major league debut Saturday. He was batting .277/.346/.540 at Triple-A Lehigh Valley before his promotion.
