The White Sox and RHP John Danks avoided arbitration on Tuesday by agreeing to a one-year, $3.45 million contract.
Danks, who turns 25 in April, turned down a multi-year contract from the White Sox last season and appears comfortable going year-to-year. He was 13-11 with a 3.77 ERA and 1.28 WHIP last season while establishing a new career-high with 200 1/3 innings pitched.

John Danks will have his left index finger examined on Wednesday by White Sox team doctors.
Danks had circulatory problems in his finger last season and is hoping everything is cleared up now that he's had a few months of rest. "I don't anticipate any problems," he said. The young left-hander is expected to gain a substantial raise in salary through the arbitration process this winter.

John Danks dropped to 13-11 after coughing up four runs in five innings in a loss to the Tigers on Sunday.
Danks wasn't sharp in the season finale, giving up four walks and seven hits, including two homers, while striking out just one. His final line includes a solid 3.77 ERA and quality 1.28 WHIP to go with 149 strikeouts in 200 1/3 innings of work.

John Danks allowed only one run in a complete-game victory over the Indians on Monday night.
He allowed only three hits, with a solo homer by Shin-Soo Choo representing the only damage. Danks struck out seven and walked one in the gem. A rough outing against the Twins in his last start ended a string of eight straight quality starts for the left-hander, but tonight he was back in top form, improving to 13-10 while lowering his ERA to 3.69.

John Danks was knocked around for seven runs over six innings in an 8-6 loss to the Twins on Tuesday night.
The seven runs matched a season-high -- he also gave up seven against the Blue Jays on May 15. Danks gave up eight hits, including three home runs, while walking three and striking out two, dropping to 12-10 on the year. Danks is winless since August 27. He carries a newly-inflated 3.82 ERA into a start against the Indians next week.

John Danks hurled eight innings of one-run ball in a tough no-decision against the Mariners on Thursday night.
The final nail in the coffin for the White Sox? Don't blame Danks. He took advantage of a weak Seattle lineup, allowing just four hits against two walks and three strikeouts. The only run scored on a solo home run by Adrian Beltre. Unfortunately for Danks, Bobby Jenks gave up two homers in the ninth to saddle him with the no-decision. Danks has now notched nine consecutive quality starts. He carries a 3.59 ERA into a must-win matchup against the Twins next week.
