Aaron Hill was named the American League's Comeback Player of the Year.
Hill posted a .286/.330/.499 line while slugging 36 home runs and collecting 108 RBI. Coming off a 2008 season in which he was limited to 55 games -- and a .685 OPS in 229 plate appearances -- after suffering a concussion in late May, Hill established himself as an elite second baseman in 2009. The 13th overall pick of the 2003 First-Year Player Draft hit at least five home runs in each month of the season.

Aaron Hill slugged a two-run homers in a shutout win over the Mariners on Friday night.
How's that for undrafted in most mixed leagues? Hill now has 34 homers and 103 RBI on the year -- tops among all major league second basemen. He's batting .299 with three homers and 16 RBI this month.

Aaron Hill was 2-for-5 with a home run and a walk-off double in an extra-inning win over the Orioles on Tuesday night.
Hill and Edwin Encarnacion went back-to-back in the third and then, with the score tied at 5-5 in the bottom of the 11th, he doubled off Dennis Sarfate to secure the walk-off win. In addition to the 33 home runs and 100 RBI, both career-highs, Hill is fifth in the league with 54 multi-hit games.

It was Hill's first game back since his wife gave birth this week. It was his first four-hit game since April 15. Speaking of hits, Hill is currently fifth in the league with 172 of them.

Aaron Hill left Monday's game against the Twins after three innings after learning that his wife had gone into labor with the couple's first child.
Jose Bautista replaced Hill in the lineup with Joe Inglett moving in from right field to second base. Bautista homered in his first at-bat.

Aaron Hill doubled twice, knocked in three runs and scored three times as the Blue Jays topped the Yankees 12-8 on Sunday.
Vernon Wells and Joe Inglett had three hits apiece for the Jays. Everyone in the lineup scored at least once and everyone beside Marco Scutaro drove in a run. Hill is up to 85 runs and 94 RBI.
