Royals signed OF Brian Anderson to a one-year, $700,000 contract.
Anderson, who turns 28 in March, hit .243/.328/.347 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 202 at-bats between the White Sox and Red Sox in '09. He's expected to at least share the Royals' starting center field job with Mitch Maier next season but neither carry much fantasy value at all.

According to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, the Royals have signed outfielder Brian Anderson to a one-year major league contract.
It was rumored that he would receive a minor league contract, but apparently Anderson managed to haggle a major league deal out of Dayton Moore. Anderson, who turns 28 in March, hit .243/.328/.347 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 202 at-bats between the White Sox and Red Sox in '09.

According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Royals are interested in free agent outfielder Brian Anderson.
Kansas City would offer a minor league contract. Anderson went 5-for-17 with two homers in limited action with the Red Sox in 2009 after being picked up from the White Sox, where he hit .238/.322/.319 with two homers and 13 RBI in 185 at-bats. The Royals could do worse for a backup outfielder.

Red Sox non-tendered outfielder Brian Anderson.
They're keeping everyone else. The Red Sox have some affection for Anderson, who went 5-for-17 with two homers in limited action after being picked up from the White Sox, but they weren't sure whether there'd be room for him on the bench next year. There won't be if both Casey Kotchman and Jeremy Hermida end up as reserves. It's likely the team will invite him back on a minor league deal, but Anderson may get a better offer elsewhere.
 Rocco Baldelli-OF - Red Sox Oct. 8 - 1:26 pm et

Rocco Baldelli (hip flexor strain) is not on Boston's ALDS roster.
It was thought Boston might carry Baldelli in the hopes he could recover in time for the Scott Kazmir/Joe Saunders combo in Games Three and Four, but it looks like the team determined he simply wouldn't be ready. Joey Gathright and Brian Anderson look to be the backup outfielders.

 Rocco Baldelli-OF - Red Sox Oct. 7 - 6:07 pm et

Rocco Baldelli (hip flexor strain) is not likely to be on Boston's ALDS roster.
Baldelli could have been a weapon off the bench against left-handed pitching, but his hip injury has been slow to heal. Joey Gathright and Brian Anderson both appear likely to make the roster as reserve outfielders.
