 Vladimir Guerrero-DH- RangersJan. 9 - 8:05 pm et
According to MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan, the Rangers and Vladimir Guerrero have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with an option for 2011.
A significantly better choice for Texas than Jermaine Dye would have been. Guerrero may see sporadic outfield duty, particularly in NL parks, but he'll be the Rangers' primary DH. The move makes David Murphy a fourth outfielder, but all signs pointed to that happening.

 Julio Borbon-DH - Rangers Dec. 7 - 4:11 pm et

According to Rangers manager Ron Washington, Julio Borbon is officially the club's new center fielder and leadoff hitter.
Josh Hamilton will move to left field and Nelson Cruz will play right. David Murphy, meanwhile, will be the fourth outfielder and also occasionally play designated hitter. If the team signs Marlon Byrd, this entire hierarchy would change, but that doesn't appear likely at this point. Byrd has said he will probably decline the team's arbitration offer, and Texas is probably better off taking the Type B compensation he will net them by leaving.

 Josh Hamilton-OF - Rangers Sep. 11 - 6:36 pm et

Josh Hamilton was given a cortisone shot in his ailing back Friday and will be shut down for at least a week.
Hamilton met with Dr. Robert Watkins before Friday's game to get a second opinion on his back. After a short examination, the cortisone shot was administered. Julio Borbon will continue to draw starts at designated hitter and will need to continue raking if the Rangers are serious about making a run at the AL Wild Card. David Murphy is playing left field Friday with Marlon Byrd in center.

 Marlon Byrd-OF - Cubs Aug. 26 - 5:32 pm et

Marlon Byrd could appear as a pinch-hitter on Wednesday despite currently struggling with kidney stones.
According to the Rangers, Byrd's availability depends on how much pain he can tolerate. Either way, the possibility of a pinch-hit appearance on Wednesday is a good sign that he'll hopefully be back in the lineup soon. David Murphy got the start in left field on Wednesday.

 Marlon Byrd-OF - Cubs Aug. 26 - 3:53 pm et

Marlon Byrd is out of the Rangers' lineup due to kidney stones.
There's no word yet on when Byrd will be ready to return. The good news is that Byrd is out of the hospital and will be at Yankee Stadium for Wednesday's game, but kidney stones are far from the most comfortable thing in the world and fantasy owners should be prepared for Byrd to miss some time. David Murphy gets the start in left field on Wednesday.

 David Murphy-OF - Rangers Aug. 6 - 12:45 am et

David Murphy homered twice and drove in three runs in a loss to the Athletics on Wednesday night.
The Rangers are in need of a power bat with their two leading home run hitters (Ian Kinsler and Nelson Cruz) ailing. With three longballs over the last three games, Murphy has proved right to the task. After a big rookie campaign last year, Murphy is batting .276/.358/.465 with 11 homers and 31 RBI.
