 Alex Gordon-3B- RoyalsNov. 11 - 2:57 pm et
A source tells FOXSports.com that the Royals are committed to Alex Gordon at third base.
As they should be. The Royals recently acquired another former first-round pick in the form of Josh Fields from the White Sox, but since he is known as a butcher in the field, the Royals view him as a potential left-fielder should they find a promising offer for David DeJesus.

 Josh Fields-3B - Royals Nov. 6 - 1:03 pm et

Royals acquired third baseman Josh Fields and second baseman Chris Getz from the White Sox for infielder-outfielder Mark Teahen and cash considerations.
Dayton Moore is off to a pretty good start. While Fields has a .229/.301/.347 line over parts of four seasons in the majors, he's only 26 years old with plenty of upside due to his power. Best of all, the Royals brought the former 2004 first-round pick in at the league minimum. Fields is a major liability on defense, so look for the Royals to utilize him with some combination of first base, designated hitter or outfield duty.
 Mark Teahen-3B - White Sox Nov. 6 - 12:14 am et

The Kansas City Star believes that no Mark Teahen-to-the-White Sox deal has been completed.
None of the players have been informed of the trade, as of yet. The New York Daily News and Chicago Sun-Times both indicated that a deal was done, and there's little reason to doubt that it was essentially agreed to. However, since nothing has become official, it's still possible that one of the two sides will back out.

 Mark Teahen-3B - White Sox Nov. 5 - 10:17 am et

According to Bill Madden of the Daily News, the Royals have agreed to trade Mark Teahen to the White Sox in exchange for Chris Getz and Josh Fields.
If it wasn't a certainty already, this all but guarantees that Jermaine Dye will not return next season. Teahen, 28, batted .271/.325/.408 with 12 home runs and 50 RBI in 2009 and is a .269/.331/.419 lifetime hitter. With the trade of Getz, the White Sox should be in the market for a second or third baseman this winter. In Getz and Fields, the Royals have added two young and inexpensive players with upside. Just who will play third base next season is up for debate. Neither Fields nor Alex Gordon, both former first round picks, have lived up to their initial billing.

 Tyler Flowers-C - White Sox Sep. 2 - 2:53 pm et

Ozzie Guillen doesn't intend to play top catching prospect Tyler Flowers and recently recalled third baseman Josh Fields regularly as long as the White Sox are in the playoff race.
Apparently he didn't see the Jim Thome trade as a white flag. "If I [give younger players regular at-bats], then I give up, and I'm not going to give up," Guillen said. "I don't care. If they give up, that's their problem. I never will give up." Hopefully he'll give up at some point, because if the White Sox are going to have the catcher of the future on the active roster, they might as well give him a chance.

 Josh Fields-3B - Royals Sep. 1 - 4:58 pm et

White Sox recalled infielder Josh Fields from Triple-A Charlotte.
The 26-year-old Fields may be nearing the end of his tenure with the White Sox. He hasn't settled into one particular role and hit just .220 with seven home runs and 30 RBI in 71 games for the club earlier this season.
