He is being summoned for a Thursday start against Boston, which makes him irrelevant in all fantasy formats. Lerew was 10-6 with a 4.09 ERA at Double-A this season.

The Royals are reportedly set to activate right-hander Anthony Lerew for a Thursday start against Boston.
"Start against Boston" should be all that AL-only owners need to see in order to stay away. Lerew was 10-6 with a 4.09 ERA at Double-A this season.

Royals signed RHP Anthony Lerew to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Lerew, who spent last year working his way back from Tommy John surgery, was released by the Braves. He's not going to be a legitimate candidate to make the Royals, but he should be nice to have stashed away in Triple-A.

Braves released RHP Anthony Lerew.
The Braves didn't want him taking up a spot at Triple-A Gwinnett, so they'll let him have a chance to pitch elsewhere. It wouldn't be surprising to see Lerew follow the Atlanta-to-Kansas City pipeline and sign on with the Royals.

Braves sent RHP Anthony Lerew outright to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Lerew's arm remains intriguing, but since he's missed much of the last two seasons following Tommy John surgery and he was out of options, it's no surprise that he went unclaimed. He still might be an option for the Atlanta pen at some point during the middle of the season.
