 David Weathers-R - Brewers Nov. 6 - 2:41 pm et

Brewers declined RHP David Weathers' $3.7 million option for 2010.
He'll get a $400,000 buyout instead. Weathers went 1-3 with a 4.88 ERA in 25 appearances for the Brewers after coming over in a midseason deal with the Reds. He remains a quality setup man, but $3.7 million is quite a bit more than the 40-year-old figures to make on the open market.

The Brewers sent cash to Cincinnati on Friday to complete their early-August trade for reliever David Weathers.
Weathers, 40, went 1-3 with a 4.88 ERA in 25 appearances with the Brewers after posting a 3.32 ERA in 38 innings for the Reds. He holds a $3.7 million club option for 2010 that is likely to go unexercised.

Brewers acquired RHP David Weathers from the Reds for cash considerations.
Weahters had a 3.32 ERA in 38 innings for the Reds this season. He'll move right into an eighth-inning role for the Brewers, one of his many former teams. Milwaukee will be able to keep him for $3.7 million next year if it so desires.

The Brewers have reportedly acquired David Weathers from the Reds for a player to be named.
The Reds got Scott Rolen to help them compete next year, but they apparently intend to do it without a bullpen. Weathers had a 3.32 ERA in 38 innings as the setup man for Francisco Cordero this season. The Reds could have kept him for next year at $3.7 million or let him go for $400,000.

David Weathers was ejected in the eighth inning Monday for arguing balls and strikes with the home plate umpire.
Weathers finished off a scoreless eighth inning before the ejection. He walked two and fanned one batter, lowering his ERA to 3.41 and his WHIP to 1.19. Manager Dusty Baker also had a few choice words for the ump.
