 Pedro Martinez-S- PhilliesNov. 16 - 6:08 pm et
Pedro Martinez's agent, Fern Cuza, told FOXSports.com Monday that his client intends to pitch a full season in 2010.
Martinez joined up with the Phillies in late July of 2009 and compiled a 5-1 record, 3.63 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in nine starts. He also made three postseason starts. The 38-year-old hasn't thrown more than 110 innings since 2006, but is still likely to draw interest as a low-risk, high-reward veteran hurler. It wouldn't be shocking to see him back in Philadelphia.

 Pedro Martinez-S - Phillies Nov. 4 - 11:51 pm et

Pedro Martinez allowed four runs over four innings as the Phillies lost the World Series to the Yankees in six games.
Is this the way it ends for Martinez? Let's hope not. Though he was on regular rest, Martinez didn't have his patented command, throwing only 46 of 77 pitches for strikes. Hideki Matsui played his worst enemy again, driving in all four of the runs he was charged with. It would have been awful hard to take the ball from the future Hall of Famer, but Charlie Manuel is fair game to be second-guessed for letting Martinez pitch to Matsui in the third inning.

Manager Charlie Manuel confirmed that Pedro Martinez will start Game 6 of the World Series.
"Pedro is ready," said Manuel. "He has already been told and he's ready to go. I mean, how much do I expect out of him? I expect probably something similar to what we got the other night. I think that he's definitely capable of giving us anywhere from six to seven innings in the game, maybe longer, depending on how many pitches he throws early." Martinez allowed three runs over six innings while striking out eight in a Game 2 loss. This time, he'll try to keep the Phillies alive.

 Pedro Martinez-S - Phillies Oct. 29 - 11:35 pm et

Pedro Martinez allowed three earned runs over six innings Thursday as the Phillies dropped Game 2 of the World Series to the Yankees.
Martinez was sharp through the first couple frames, using junk baller-like stuff to keep the Yankees off balance. But Mark Teixeira touched him for a solo shot in the fourth inning and Hideki Matsui did the same in the sixth. Pedro probably shouldn't have been allowed out of the dugout for the seventh, but manager Charlie Manuel made the mistake and another New York run crossed the plate. The best-of-seven fall classic is now tied 1-1.

Pedro Martinez will start Game 2 of the World Series against the Yankees.
Many speculated, but Charlie Manuel finally made it official during an appearance on Michael Smerconish's radio show on Tuesday morning. Martinez is expected to oppose A.J. Burnett. Manuel also announced Cole Hamels as his Game 3 starter when the series returns to Philadelphia.

 CC Sabathia-S - Yankees Oct. 26 - 7:40 pm et

Sources told SI.com's Jon Heyman that both the Yankees and Phillies are likely to use three-man rotations to begin the World Series.
Heyman believes the Yankees will go with three men all of the way through, while the Phillies might change things up in Games 5 and 6, rather than use Pedro Martinez on short rest. It'd be an awfully risky strategy for both teams, given the recent history of starters on three days' rest. Maybe CC Sabathia can handle it OK, but who knows if the same will be true of Cliff Lee, A.J. Burnett and Andy Pettitte. If Heyman is right, then Sabathia and Lee would match up in Games 1, 4 and 7.
