Rangers pitching prospect Luis Mendoza pitched a no-hitter Friday night for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Menodza walked six and hit a batter, but led the Oklahoma City RedHawks over the Salt Lake Bees by a score of 5-0 and obviously showed a fantastic ability to get batters out. He threw 125 pitches. The performance could put him in the running for a September call-up.

 Luis Mendoza-R - Rangers May. 6 - 9:34 pm et

Rangers optioned RHP Luis Mendoza to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Mendoza allowed four earned runs over one inning in his only appearance with the Rangers after being called up on April 23. He'll resume starting duties at Triple-A.
 Kris Benson-R - Rangers May. 6 - 8:47 am et

The Rangers are expected to activate Kris Benson (elbow) from the disabled list on Wednesday afternoon.
Luis Mendoza will be optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma in order to make room. There's nothing official just yet, but it sounds like Benson is going to return as a reliever initially. He could definitely make a spot start down the road.

 Luis Mendoza-R - Rangers Apr. 23 - 1:37 pm et

Rangers recalled RHP Luis Mendoza from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Mendoza takes the roster spot of Willie Eyre, who's on the DL with a groin injury. He had been working as a starter in Triple-A (striking out 13 in 10 1/3 scoreless innings for Oklahoma City), but will likely work out of the Rangers' bullpen for now.
 Luis Mendoza-R - Rangers Apr. 20 - 1:24 pm et

Luis Mendoza pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out seven Sunday in his start for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Mendoza has allowed four hits, walked six and fanned 13 in 10 1/3 scoreless innings through two starts. The Rangers may opt to give him another opportunity, probably as a reliever, before much longer.
 Luis Mendoza-R - Rangers Mar. 24 - 4:05 pm et

Rangers optioned RHP Luis Mendoza to Triple-A Oklahoma; reassigned RHP Brian Gordon to minor league camp.
Mendoza, who got to open last season as the Rangers' fifth starter, is back where he belongs after walking seven in 9 1/3 innings this spring. Gordon, a converted outfielder, gave up five runs in four innings in his attempt to win a bullpen spot.
