Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that the Marlins will explore a multi-year deal for Ricky Nolasco if he has a strong season in 2010.
Nolasco is represented by Matt Sosnick, who just negotiated a new four-year deal for Josh Johnson, if that means anything. Nolasco, 27, experienced an up-and-down season in '09, finishing 13-9 with a 5.09 ERA, but his peripherals were still top-notch. The Marlins and Nolasco recently avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.8 million contract.

 Ricky Nolasco-S - Marlins Dec. 17 - 2:01 pm et

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that the Marlins have agreed to terms with right-hander Ricky Nolasco on a one-year, $3.8 million contract.
The two sides avoided arbitration, with the 27-year-old receiving a $1.4 million raise. Last season was an uneven campaign for Nolasco, as he finished at 13-9 with a 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 195 strikeouts in 185 innings, even finding himself demoted to Triple-A New Orleans at one point. His 16-strikeout finale against the Braves is likely still fresh in fantasy owners minds, but after an unlucky season, he's a fantastic rebound candidate.

The Marlins are not willing to part with Ricky Nolasco this winter, reports Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
Nolasco, 26, went 13-9 this season with a 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 195 strikeouts in 31 starts. He's due a nice raise through arbitration -- usually a mark of death in south Florida -- but the Marlins are willing to fork over the extra cash for the reliable right-handed starter.

 Ricky Nolasco-S - Marlins Sep. 30 - 10:37 pm et

Ricky Nolasco struck out 16 over 7 2/3 innings in a 5-4 win over the Braves on Wednesday night.
Nolasco struck out nine in a row at one point -- one shy of Tom Seaver's major league record. The 16 strikeouts set a new franchise record and are the most in the majors this season. Both runs that scored were unearned. Nolasco finishes a topsy-turvy 2009 campaign at 13-9 with a 5.06 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 195/44 K/BB ratio in 185 innings, spanning 31 starts. With his high ERA, he will likely be undervalued in 2010, but those who have watched him this season know how unlucky he has been. He's one to target.
 Ricky Nolasco-S - Marlins Sep. 25 - 10:25 pm et

Ricky Nolasco yielded three runs over seven innings against the Mets on Friday night, but took a no-decision in an eventual 6-5 loss.
He served up a three-run homer to Jeff Francoeur in the second, but was taken off the hook by a three-run blast by Hanley Ramirez in the fifth. Nolasco limited the Mets to just hits, while fanning seven and walking just one. He has allowed three runs or less in four out of his last five starts. He'll likely have one last start against the Braves next week.
 Ricky Nolasco-S - Marlins Sep. 19 - 9:57 pm et

Ricky Nolasco allowed just two earned runs over seven innings Saturday as the Marlins defeated the Reds 3-2.
Nolasco moved to 12-9 on the season after collecting 10 strikeouts against one walk. He lowered his ERA to 5.34 and his WHIP to 1.34. The right-hander has had a rocky season, but can usually be trusted against poor offenses. He's not a bad fantasy bet in NL-only leagues next week against the Mets.
