It was a lost season for Floyd, who hit .125 in just 16 at-bats for the Padres. The 36-year-old, whose shoulder was never quite right this year, may call it a career.

Padres placed outfielder Cliff Floyd on the 60-day disabled list with a torn labrum in his right shoulder.
Floyd's shoulder still isn't where it should be. Surgery is an option.

Floyd has spent nearly two months on the disabled list with shoulder and knee issues. Drew Macias got the boot to make room on the 25-man roster.

Cliff Floyd (shoulder, knee) will join the Padres in Denver this weekend.
Floyd was placed on the disabled list with a strained shoulder April 6. He later had discomfort in his right knee, which he had drained in April. Drew Macias is likely the odd man out, according to Corey Brock. Floyd should bring some welcome offense to the club. Brian Giles could lose a little bit of playing time.

Cliff Floyd (shoulder, knee) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Single-A Lake Elsinore.
Floyd will serve as the designated hitter for the rest of the week and could begin playing the field this weekend. He's been on the disabled list all season after inking a one-year, $750,000 contract in February.

Cliff Floyd (shoulder, knee) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week.
Floyd no longer has a problem with the shoulder injury that landed him on the disabled list in the first place, but still feels discomfort in the knee he had drained in April. He's been jogging for over a week and just recently began taking batting practice. A late May return seems realistic.
