Carlos Delgado's agent David Sloane says his client's conditioning program is "progressing well," reports Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com.
There's still no word on which teams are interested, according to Morosi. Reports on the 38-year-old slugger weren't positive in winter ball, especially in the field, leaving an assignment as a part-time designated hitter/first-baseman as the most likely possibility. Delgado was limited to just 26 games last season because of hip surgery, batting .298/.393/.521 with four home runs and 23 RBI.

 Carlos Delgado-1B - Mets Feb. 5 - 1:01 pm et

The New York Post's Joel Sherman confirmed Friday that the Blue Jays no longer have interest in free agent Carlos Delgado.
Delgado, who turns 38 this season, played only 26 games last year due to a hip issue. He batted .298/.393/.521 with four home runs and 23 RBI when healthy, but teams that have scouted his workouts in the Dominican this winter claim he is not moving well. The Jays will stick with Adam Lind at DH.

Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos told MLB.com's Jordan Bastian on Friday that his club is likely done adding players.
"As I sit here today, I don't see us doing anything [else before spring training]," said Anthopoulos, "but that's pretty fluid and it could change." The Jays finalized a one-year, $2.75 million contract with Kevin Gregg on Friday and made a few splashes earlier this winter. It's safe to assume their previously reported interest in Carlos Delgado no longer remains.

 Carlos Delgado-1B - Mets Jan. 29 - 9:14 am et

According to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian, Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston "spent time lobbying" for the club to bring back Carlos Delgado on Thursday.
The Mets inked Fernando Tatis to a contract on Thursday and appear set at first base, leaving few remaining options for the 37-year-old Delgado. "If there's some way to bring Carlos back here, I'd love to see him back here," said Gaston, "because he can do a lot of things as far as helping the young kids about knowing about hitting." He batted .298/.393/.521 with four home runs and 23 RBI last year in the 26 games he was healthy.

 Fernando Tatis-1B - Mets Jan. 28 - 6:25 pm et

Mike Puma of the New York Post confirms that infielder Fernando Tatis will be rejoining the Mets on a one-year contract.
SI.com's Jon Heyman first reported the news Thursday evening. Tatis, 35, has posted an .811 OPS during his last two years with the Mets and will serve in a platoon at first base with Daniel Murphy this season. Carlos Delgado, it appears, will have to find a job elsewhere for 2010.

 Fernando Tatis-1B - Mets Jan. 28 - 5:04 pm et

Jon Heyman of SI.com writes that Fernando Tatis will be rejoining the Mets.
This isn't confirmation of a deal as much as it is an assumption of one getting done. Tatis, 35, has batted .289/.352/.458 with an 811 OPS over the past two seasons with New York and should be the right-handed part of a first base platoon with Daniel Murphy. It's less than desirable, but remember that the Mets believe Ike Davis isn't far away from making an impact in the majors. Heyman adds that Carlos Delgado will now have to seek employment elsewhere and that scouts view him as a designated hitter.
