Indians signed 2B Mark Grudzielanek to a minor league contract.
Grudzy was released by the Twins last season after a short and unimpressive stint at their Double-A affiliate in New Britain. He turns 40 this year and hasn't appeared in a major league game since 2008. Needless to say, he's not likely to have any fantasy impact this season.

Twins released second baseman Mark Grudzielanek.
Grudzielanek hit .267 (8-for-30) in eight games with Double-A New Britain. He also made two errors at second base. This likely signals the end of the 39-year-old's career. Unfortunately for the Twins, it also means that Nick Punto and Alexi Casilla will patrol second base for the club down the stretch of a pennant race.

Twins signed second baseman Mark Grudzielanek to a minor league contract.
Very interesting. It appeared that the 39-year-old Grudzielanek was done when he didn't find a fit in the offseason. Even if he's still in fine shape, it's not going to be easy for him to reemerge as a contributor after practically 12 months off (he missed the last two months of 2008 with an ankle injury). Perhaps he'll get a shot if Alexi Casilla struggles into mid-August.
