With no one offering him a contract following his offseason workouts, Joe Borowski said he's opted for retirement.
Borowski had feelers from the Tigers and Phillies, but no commitments. "I guess 38, 87 and 88 wasn't looking good in people's eyes," he said, referring to his age and his fastball velocity. Borowski, who didn't establish himself in the majors until he was 31, apparently will finish his career with 131 saves and a 4.18 ERA. |
