 Mark Loretta-3B - Dodgers Jan. 23 - 5:33 pm et

Mark Loretta is "leaning toward retiring and accepting a front office job with an unspecified club," according to ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick.
Loretta, who turns 39 this season, has played for the Brewers, Astros, Padres, Red Sox and Dodgers during his 14-year professional career. It's a safe guess that he's talking about an office gig with one of those clubs. Crasnick expects something to happen "this week."

 Mark Loretta-3B - Dodgers Oct. 8 - 9:36 pm et

Mark Loretta's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth on Thursday night completed an improbable two-out comeback as the Dodgers defeated the Cardinals 3-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the NLCS.
The Cardinals led 2-1 with two outs and nobody on in the bottom of the ninth, and Ryan Franklin seemed to have ended the game when he got James Loney to hit a routine liner to left. Yet, Matt Holliday muffed the play and turned it into a double. Two walks and a Ronnie Belliard RBI single later, pinch-hitter Loretta drove in Casey Blake for a walk-off victory. It was a crushing loss for the Cards, who now head back to St. Louis with their backs up against the wall.
 James Loney-1B - Dodgers Aug. 24 - 11:26 am et

James Loney was held out of the lineup Sunday with a flu-like illness.
Loney developed the sickness Saturday afternoon and should be ready to go by the time the Dodgers kick off a series with the Rockies on Tuesday. Mark Loretta has started at first base in his place.

 Andre Ethier-OF - Dodgers Aug. 22 - 1:54 pm et

Andre Ethier, Russell Martin and James Loney are out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.
Juan Pierre, Brad Ausmus and Mark Loretta will start in their place. Make sure to change your lineup as gametime approaches.

 James Loney-1B - Dodgers Apr. 27 - 8:06 pm et

James Loney will get the day off Monday as the Dodgers take on the Giants.
This is likely due to his lifetime 1-for-20 average against Barry Zito. Mark Loretta will play in his place while Matt Kemp will slide in Loney's usual cleanup role.
