 Tony Clark-1B- DiamondbacksAug. 22 - 10:04 am et
Tony Clark has had discussions with the Diamondbacks about joining the club in a baseball operations role.
Clark was released from the D'Backs in early July and has drawn little interest from other organizations. "I told my wife after I got the news that my playing career may be done," he said Friday. "If it is time to move on to the next chapter it could be a 30-year one so I want to get it right."

 Tony Clark-1B - Diamondbacks Jul. 12 - 11:45 pm et

Diamondbacks released first baseman Tony Clark.
Not a surprise. Clark may have a few homers left in his bat yet, but there wasn't any reason for the Diamondbacks to keep using him. They'll probably call up Josh Whitesell and add him to the mix at first base. Clark, who was 4-for-16 with a homer and two doubles as a pinch-hitter, would make sense in Colorado if Garrett Atkins is traded.

Diamondbacks activated first baseman Tony Clark from the 15-day disabled list.
Clark has been sidelined since May 4 with strained ligament in his right hand. He was batting just .179 before the injury and struggled in his minor league rehab stint by going just 4-for-25.

Tony Clark, on the disabled list with a strained ligament in his right hand, is 2-for-16 with three walks in four games at Triple-A Reno.
Diamondbacks manager A.J. Hinch told reporters that Clark could rejoin the club this weekend. We'd like to see him spend more time at Triple-A working on his swing. After all, the 37-year-old was batting just .179/.258/.429 before he was sidelined.

 Josh Whitesell-1B - Nationals Jun. 13 - 8:17 am et

The Diamondbacks plan to start Josh Whitesell at first base Saturday and Sunday.
Mark Reynolds, who has been there this week, will slide back to third. Arizona will have quite a logjam coming as Chad Tracy (oblique) and Tony Clark (hand) are expected to be available again soon.

 Tony Clark-1B - Diamondbacks Jun. 9 - 9:26 am et

Tony Clark (hand) is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Thursday.
Clark has been out since May 6 with a strained ligament in his right hand, and may require an extended stay in Triple-A to find his swing. Part of the reason he was placed on the disabled list in the first place was because he couldn't comfortably take cuts with the bat.
