Jon Paul Morosi of FOXSports.com reports that Mike Sweeney still wants to play this season.
Sweeney, 36, batted .281/.335/.442 with eight home runs and 34 RBI with the Mariners last season, but was bothered by his balky back early on. The .298 lifetime hitter is almost exclusively a designated hitter at this point, limiting the pool of teams who could afford to sign him, but he's still a very effective right-handed bat. |
