Indians re-signed RHP Anthony Reyes to a minor league contract.
Reyes was non-tendered on Saturday by the Tribe. He's still recovering from Tommy John surgery and is likely to miss the first half of the 2010 season, but the Indians have faith in his ability. The 28-year-old posted a 2.76 ERA between Cleveland and St. Louis in 2008.

Indians non-tendered RHP Anthony Reyes.
This is a surprise. Reyes underwent Tommy John surgery in June and figures to miss at least the first half of 2010, but it was worth giving him $500,000 and seeing if he could come back, particularly since he was under control through 2012. The Red Sox and Yankees could be all over this one, and San Diego is another destination that would make sense, given that Reyes is from SoCal.

Anthony Reyes will undergo an ulnar nerve transposition operation on Friday, with Tommy John surgery also a possibility.
Dr. Lewis Yocum will perform the surgery, and he'll perform the Tommy John if he discovers that Reyes needs to have the ligament replaced. With just the nerve transposition surgery, Reyes would miss four-to-six months. Either way, he's done for the season.

Anthony Reyes has yet to decide whether he'll undergo elbow surgery.
Reyes met last week with Dr. James Andrews and the Indians have recommended that he go under the knife.

RHP Anthony Reyes (elbow) will see Dr. Lewis Yocum for a second opinion Tuesday.
Reyes was placed on the 60-day disabled list a few days ago and was planning on working on a rehab plan. However, it looks as if he will undergo an ulnar nerve transposition, which will end his 2009 season. Regardless of the outcome, it's safe to drop him in all leagues.
