The Phillies have decided to add Brett Myers and subtract Miguel Cairo from the World Series roster.
The Phillies are going back to 12 pitchers for the series against the Yankees. Myers was on the NLDS roster, and he got two outs without allowing a run in his only appearance against the Rockies. He had a 6.43 ERA in eight relief appearances after returning from hip surgery in September.

 Chase Utley-2B - Phillies Sep. 5 - 5:54 pm et  

Updating a previous item, Chase Utley is out of Saturday's game against the Astros due to a bruised right foot.
Utley fouled a ball off the foot in the third inning of Friday's game. X-rays on the foot were negative, but he is currently experiencing swelling in the foot. He is considered day-to-day. Miguel Cairo will fill in on Saturday.

Phillies purchased the contract of infielder Miguel Cairo from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Cairo was designated for assignment in May after going 2-for-17 with the Phillies. He'll return to a utility infield role.
