Billy Buckner hurled seven innings of one-run ball against the Dodgers on Tuesday night, but suffered a no-decision in an eventual 5-4 loss.
Tough break for Buckner. He tossed perhaps his best start of the year, holding the Dodgers to just five hits while fanning four and walking three -- he survived with the benefit of five double plays. He even chipped in with the bat, driving in runs with an infield single in the second inning and a double in the sixth. Unfortunately it all came crashing down once the bullpen took over. It was a great outing, but don't get carried away, as Buckner still has a 7.38 ERA in 53 2/3 innings this season.
