Jamie Walker was fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball Thursday for his profanity-laced comments about umpire Angel Hernandez.
Walker was lucky to avoid suspension. In a prepared statement, Bob Watson, MLB's vice president of on-field operations, called Walker's comments "an inappropriate, unnecessary attack on umpire Hernandez's professionalism. Such comments impugning the integrity and impartiality of Angel Hernandez or any other member of the umpiring staff will not be tolerated." Source: Baltimore Sun
