Cubs placed RHP Chad Fox on the 15-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation.
Fox has had a multitude of injuries attack him in recent years, and it was impressive how he battled back from three Tommy John injuries. His first game since being recalled from the minors ended in yet again another injury, however. He's likely out for the year for what is being termed right-elbow inflammation.

Chad Fox was removed in the eighth inning Saturday with an arm injury.
As Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune writes, "this is likely the last time Fox will pitch for the Cubs." He hasn't looked good and may need a stint on the disabled list. The Cubs would be better off simply cutting ties.

Cubs recalled RHP Chad Fox from Triple-A Iowa.
The veteran had a 1.59 ERA in 11 1/3 innings for Iowa, but is not likely to have significant value in NL-only leagues.

Cubs re-signed RHP Chad Fox to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Let's try it again. Fox's 2008 comeback lasted 3 1/3 innings before he went on the DL with elbow troubles. It was his first action in the majors since 2005, and he hasn't pitched significant innings since 2003. He's 38 now, and there's almost no realistic chance that he'll be able to stay healthy and contribute to the Cubs' cause.
