Orlando Cabrera and Delmon Young drove in runs in the 10th inning as the Twins topped the Tigers 3-2 in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.
Joe Nathan gave Twins fans reason to worry when he came right back and allowed a Curtis Granderson homer to start the bottom of the 10th, but he held on from there and the Twins are now just one game back in the AL Central. The Twins went ahead in the 10th when Denard Span singled, advanced twice on wild pitches and then scored on Cabrera's single. Young later delivered a sac fly with the bases loaded and one out. It originally looked like the Twins might win it in the ninth. However, after Alexi Casilla's leadoff double, the team tried back-to-back bunts. The first one worked, advancing Casilla to third. Nick Punto's didn't, as he popped into a double play.
