According to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, left-hander John Halama hopes to sign a minor league contract with the Brewers next week.
The Brew Crew will have a scout in the stands Friday night when Halama takes the mound in the Dominican Republic. Assuming all goes well, Milwaukee will give the 37-year-old lefty a shot. He hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2006, but posted a 4.48 ERA in 16 appearances (13 starts) this season at Triple-A Gwinnett. The Brewers really are desperate for arms. |
