Paul Lo Duca told Sirius XM's Home Plate on Thursday that he still has a desire to play in the major leagues.
Lo Duca hasn't appeared in an MLB game since 2008, and hit just .243/.321/.295 in 173 at-bats that season. "I feel unbelievable," he said. "I’ve been hitting the last four or five days constantly and started my workouts... My heart’s into it and I want to go back in it full bore." He turns 38 years old next April and is doubtful to draw much interest from major league clubs.

 Paul Lo Duca-C - Marlins Feb. 18 - 10:07 am et

General manager Ken Williams said Tuesday that the White Sox had conversations with Paul Lo Duca during the offseason, but are no longer interested in signing him.
For now the White Sox will let Cole Armstrong, Donny Lucy, Corky Miller and Chris Stewart compete to back up A.J. Pierzynski while Lo Duca searches for a minor league deal somewhere.

 Paul Lo Duca-C - Marlins Jan. 13 - 2:21 pm et

The Astros are discussing a minor league contract with Paul Lo Duca.
All indications are that the Astros don't trust J.R. Towles, but they're also not willing to spend money on a real catcher. If that leads to Lo Duca and Humberto Quintero sharing time behind the plate, then the Astros will be among the NL's worst at three positions, the others being third base and center field.

 Arthur Rhodes-R - Reds Dec. 2 - 12:59 am et

Marlins declined to offer arbitration to Arthur Rhodes, Luis Gonzalez and Paul Lo Duca.
The Marlins are so cheap that they didn't not only not want to pay Rhodes, but they didn't even want to pay for the draft pick he would have brought when he left. It was fine to pass on the other two. All three were Type B free agents.
