Placido Polanco (elbow) is out of Monday's lineup against the Astros.

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said that Polanco's elbow is sore, so he's getting the day off. We know Polanco will likely need surgery during the offseason, so expect him to continue to play through the discomfort. Wilson Valdez will start in his place.

Placido Polanco went 4-for-5 with a run scored in Tuesday's victory over the Giants.

Injuries have robbed Polanco of some of his fantasy value this season, but he's still hitting .325 with 60 runs scored in 389 at-bats.

Placido Polanco is back in the Phillies' lineup Wednesday.

Polanco was pulled from Tuesday's game with left triceps tendinitis and will probably need surgery this offseason to correct his elbow issues. "I don’t know how bad it is," he said before Wednesday's game. "I’m not a doctor, but it sure looks like they’re going to need to operate."

Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said that Placido Polanco was pulled from Tuesday's game due to left triceps tendinitis.

Polanco was 1-for-3 with an RBI groundout before being pinch-hit for by Greg Dobbs in the top of the seventh inning. Manuel doesn't think the injury is serious, so consider him day-to-day for now.

Placido Polanco drove in a go-ahead run with an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning as the Phillies beat the Nationals 6-4.

Wilson Valdez lead the inning off with a bunt single, then went to second on a sacrifice and third on a fly ball. Polanco then singled to center to make it 5-4 and later came around to score on a Jayson Werth double. Polanco also doubled, singled, scored a run, and picked up another RBI earlier in the contest. Injuries have limited his value, but he's on pace for over 100 runs scored given a 150 game season.
