According to a report on FOXSports.com, depending on the results of the next two games against the Yankees, the Rays could scale back trade efforts.
The Rays enter play on Tuesday seven and a half games behind the Yankees for the division lead and five behind the Red Sox for the wild card. According to a major league source, if they decide to become "sellers," the team could make their entire bullpen outside of J.P. Howell available -- this includes Dan Wheeler, Chad Bradford, Grant Balfour, Joe Nelson and Lance Cormier. However, according to one rival GM, the Rays would be "nuts" to sell. "I guarantee you, the Yankees and Red Sox are just as worried about the Rays as they are about each other," the GM said. Source: FOXSports.com
