Eric Chavez, who battled a career-threatening back injury last year, expects to play only "three or four days a week" at third base this season.
Chavez underwent a microdiscectomy on his back in June and played only eight total games in 2009. If his body won't cooperate this season, he may even retire. "Either way, I'm prepared. And happy," said the third baseman. "If my body just doesn't let it happen, I'm ready to move on with my life." Source: CSN Bay Area
