Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that Carlos Lee is not a candidate to be traded.
"He is going to be our left fielder," said Astros general manager Ed Wade. "He has a complete no-trade clause and he has made it very, very clear that he does not want to go anywhere." Wade acknowledged that his payroll will need to "go south," just don't expect them to shed Lee, who has three years and $55.5 million remaining on his contract.

Alyson Footer of MLB.com reports that Red Sox bench coach Brad Mills and first base coach Tim Bogar will interview for the Astros' vacant managerial position on Monday.
Mills and Bogar will wrap up the first round of interviews for the job. According to Footer, the second round of job interviews could begin as soon as later this week. The process is moving quickly, however if Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin is a finalist, and his team advances to the World Series, it may impact the timetable to make a decision.

Carlos Lee (hand) went 1-for-4 Friday in his return to the Astros' lineup.
Lee was left out of Thursday's lineup after complaining of soreness in his hand. He's batting .302/.346/.493 on the year with 26 homers and 102 RBI, and should be fine for the last two games of the regular season.

Carlos Lee (hand) is expected to return to the lineup Friday.
Lee had to be benched Thursday evening because of soreness in his right hand. "It's just for a precaution," interim manager Dave Clark said just before game time. "He feels it more so when he swings and misses. I hope to give him the whole day off if we don't have to use him."

Carlos Lee was held out of Thursday's lineup with right hand soreness.
Lee will have to put his three-game multi-hit streak on hold. Jason Michaels is manning left field Thursday against Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee.

Kaz Matsui was held out of Sunday's lineup with flu-like symptoms.
Several other Houston players are feeling under the weather, including Miguel Tejada and Carlos Lee. Matsui is hoping to return to the lineup shortly. "I should be OK [Monday]," he said. "It's tough to explain, but I'm just a little dizzy, lightheaded. But it's not serious."
